When you start "fibro-flipping," to be sure you wrote a phone number (or any numbered sequence) correctly, you need to check and recheck it many, many times, because you cannot remember whether you checked it or not. It's as if you forgot where you left your short-term memory. You begin conversations in the middle, not realizing that you forgot to verbalize the thoughts that led up to your statement, and you get the "look" They may be mystified and confused. They're confused!!!!! Or you can go into what I call "fugue" states - staring into space until your brain gets a chance to catch up, before you can resume your conversation (or task).
I long ago gave up on resuming any task after that long. Might as well hop on to the next thing or thought, hoping on hope that you can think the task through!!!!!!!!
But remember that a dose of daily humor even can help to clear away a few cobwebs, as you search the house far and wide for your frontal cortex!!!!!!!
