makes me even more muy loco!!!!!!!
Fibro is a chronic medical problem that can be so aggravating and sometimes so maddening for people who have it! If you are not receiving the most up-to-date medications or treatments, you can seriously be behind the curve, comparatively speaking. Comparing ourselves to other people can be so disheartening; however, we also cans benefit greatly by observing and learning from others.
I always strike up conversations with fellow "infusion receivers" to see how they are doing. Most people are so friendly, and want to share, and on the other hand hear how you are doing.
As we know, auto immune diseases can be so vague, so any type of clarification cannot be anything but helpful! And of course seeing others in their predicaments, can certainly put our situation in a new perspective, I shared some about a dear friend being recently diagnosed with Lupus. I am so grateful that I only have fibro and rheumatoid arthritis because Lupus can be so much worse.
When our boys were little, and I was a Boy Scout leader, I had a friend that assisted me. She was so kind and sweet, and very helpful to our troop. I knew that she had some health issues, but at that time in my life, I was healthy as a horse, and living in my own little self absorbed world. She did tell me once that she had Lupus, and that it had started with an attack on her heart. I remember that she said that she was terminal, with no more than 2 years to live! But I was amazed at how happy and upbeat that she acted. I was so shocked and saddened, especially for her young son that was only in elementary school. Time went by, and our boys got older and outgrew scouts. I forgot about her. I heard later that she passed away when our kids were in middle school. I felt sad for her son, Paul, who was the sweetest young man. She had been a single parent.
For myself, my world can typically be so small, unless I really make a point to be aware and change my thoughts and behaviors. I need frequent reminders.
