Ignorance = Zippo Empathy

Since I suffer from chronic pain, depression and other related emotional and physical issues, I feel the necessity to share a "Dear Abby" that I came across in yesterday's Sunday newspaper. This is also for all of my dear friends and acquaintences that deal with the same daily issues.

You stumble across things, and you think to yourself, This can't be for real?!!

"My wife and I have been married for 40 years. We were opposites who were attracted to each other, and enjoyed a lot of the same things.

For the last 20 years, my wife has been taking an antidepressant (prescribed by her primary doctor. She has every side effect of the drug.

Although we still live in the same home, we go our own ways. Even though my wife is a good person I don't want to spend more time with someone who is incapable of having a decent conversation, let alone intimacy.

I am going to move out. Do I tell our children that it is because their mother is addicted to a drug, or should I take the blame?

Hmmmmm? There are those times that I think "unchristian thoughts," i.e. wouldn't it be interesting if that individual could experience fibromyalgia, etc?!!! The lack of empathy is appalling.

There is nothing more important than trying to surround ourselves with caring, empathic friends and loved ones.

From Me to U!!!

Hope in the Fog!
