As I have shared, my left hip and thigh have been hurting. The Rheumatologist says it is probably bursitis. The ridiculous pain has been getting worse, no matter what I do. Here we go again!!!! This body ………. ! I vaguely remember talking about this before, but memory in our world is a whole new world everyday! But a friend shared that she had bursitis and did not exercise, and now that hip has very limited mobility. Ugh
I have an appointment with a Pain Doctor this Thursday. Last week I had an MRI on my back. ? I did not realize that they were doing the MRI on my back!! ( I had previously had back pain, but physical therapy had seemed to help that pain greatly.) I thought it was supposed to be on my hip?! I had a teleconference with this doctor 2 weeks ago about my hip primarily. Why can’t the MRI also be done on my hip? That is why I set the appt. up with the pain doctor! We will call the requesting physician right now, the x ray folks told me. You just assume if you do not hear back from Strick/Diagnostic center that permission was not given. No, thank you, I don’t care to pay for a MRI myself!!! So this morning I decided to call the knee doctor to look at my hip. Desperation! Someone said, “why are you going to such extremes?” If looks could kill!!! I am blessed to be seen tomorrow ! My appointment is not for 2 weeks to see the actual surgeon. But I am lucky to have an appointment tomorrow with a non surgical orthopedist. I did not know that such a doctor exists!
You hear that we retire in order to have time to go to the doctor appointments!!!!! Right?!! Ha ha So true! Yesterday, I had blood work done at the Rheumatologist’s office. This morning after making the appointment with the Orthopedist, I thought that I should call the Rheumatologist to send lab work to this doctor. I was looking at my messy calendar and noticed that they will be doing lab work on Thursday prior to my appointment with that doctor. I left a message with this new doctor about already having the labs done, but have not heard back. And since I have the appointment with the pain doctor on Thursday, I called back again to make sure that the results were being sent to the orthopedist. I then thought, I better make sure that the MRI is sent to the orthopedist. To which office was it sent? They have 3 locations. I have been told in the past numerous times that not to worry, they will receive it. Yeah, sure! Sound familiar! But only to find at the next appointment, the doctor’s office did not receive the results. Does this sound familiar? But of course, it is not on my hip! I wonder if this new doctor tomorrow will ask me about the MRI and the hip situation? Of course, he will say that he cannot decide anything until we have a MRI o And before that we will need an xray of your hip!
I am talking on the phone to one doctor’s office, and see that another call is coming in from the other doctor’s office, but there is nothing that I can do! Quick, call back! “Please leave a message ………….!”
Are we having fun yet?!!!!
The irony of all of the above is that it may be all for naught! Heart surgeries are being delayed, and classified as elective! A dear friend from church is waiting to hear whether or not he will have heart surgery. That type of surgery sure seems like it would be imperative! My silly hip can sure wait. It gives me more reason to be a couch potato! Oh since you mentioned it, pass the potato chips!!!!!
Oh and by the way, all of the above phone calls transpired during early morning fibro fog!!! Hmmmmmmmmm
I wonder what I really said?!!!!!!
Well one thing is for sure, NAPTIME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah, I can be a couch potato again! Pass the potato chips!
